This policy describes how departments can establish guest access to the Washington University wireless network.
On the first and third Monday of each month a new guest login and password for access to the wireless network will be generated by the NTS NOC. Guest passwords from the previous two week period will be retired. The logins will consist of the word WU-guest followed by 4 random numbers (WU-guest-1234). The password will be randomly generated following the WU Password Guidelines.
The information will be sent via email to groups that request guest access to the wireless network such as Olin Library, Whittemore House, Event Service, and the Chancellors Office. Two representatives in each group will be designated to receive the information.
Requests for guests who require access to the wireless network for more than two weeks must be made by a Dean or Department Head. Requests may be made via email to nts-wireless@wustl.edu and must include guest name, email address, phone number, affiliation, and term length. A login and password will then be generated which will automatically expire at the end of the term. In the event the guest leaves early, notification should be made to the same address. (nts-wireless@wustl.edu).
In order to be designated as a representative for a group or department, please have your Dean or Department Head send an email request to nts-wireless@wustl.edu. This request should include your department/group, your name, email address and phone number.
